The RCA R56WH76 (R56WH78) is definitely on the low-end as far as picture quality and important features. You can view HD sources with component inputs but this TV is missing an HDMI input which is the preferred method of receiving HD signals. This TV is also much bulkier due to its CRT technology which is becoming very outdated. The R56WH76 (R56WH78) would be ideal for someone looking for the largest screen possible at the lowest price and doesn’t plan on watching HD channels. If you plan on viewing HD channels, you should probably consider spending a little more money or finding a smaller set with better high definition features.

WORST TV EVER,,,,IT BROKE DOWN IN LESS THAN 2 YRS AND THE REPAIR IS MORE THAN 300…….DONT BUY IT
yOU ARE SO RIGHT. PIECE OF JUNK…2 YEARS EXACTLY. CONVERGENCE ISSUE. AND RCA DISCONTINUE IT ON THEIR SITE AND NO LONGER DEAL WITH ISSUES FOR IT.
I’ve lost sound, and convergence is way off…should I fix it??? or just get another set?
Same here. Had one that lasted 11 months. Had to fight with RCA but they finally had a service company pick it up. They had it for over a month. We were told the parts were out of stock so they were going to give us a new one. Instead, they sent a reconditioned TV which lasted 15 months at most. Within months the screen started moving in and out randomy. RCA advised us the original 12 month warranty was up and the second (reconditioned TV) was not under warranty.
So, we went through TWO of these TV’s in about 2 years. I would say don’t buy one but RCA already knew it was crap and took it off the market!
