Review of Vizio VP505XVT – 50-inch 1080p Plasma HDTV.jpg)
With the upcoming launch of Vizio group’s latest XVT models, the Vizio VP505XVT will make sure your HDTV viewing experience will never be same again. Vizio VP505XVT promises to offer more features and extended performance at breakthrough prices. This Plasma HDTV provides full 1080p and HQV processing and has the highest value with the latest advancements in video display technology. The distinctive and sleek industrial design is highlighted by lean, piano black bezels.
To maximize the home theater experience, this model has advanced audio and video processing capabilities adorned inside the television itself. The audio feature is powered by built-in TruSurround XT processing engine which decodes 5.1 audio and will output the sound through the television’s speakers. Silicon Optix REON HQV processor is one of the best video processing chips available with 30,000:1 Contrast Ratio, 1200 nits brightness. So you will finally get decent sounds straight from the television, a surround sound isn’t quite as necessary (but still fun). Priced at $1699.99 and loaded with so many advanced features, it’s arguably one of the best bargain on a 50 inch Plasma HDTV.

DO NOT BUY A VIZIO TV THEY SUCK !!!!!!! VIZIO WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCT EVEN IF IT IS DEFECTIVE!!!!!!!! WARNING!!!!!!! WARNING!!!!!!
I have puchased several Vizio TVs and I am happy with all of them. Maybe you just got the bad apple out of the bunch and that some times happens.
I have all Vizio’s too and have had no troubles…will buy more.
Have had a 50″ Vizio for 2 yrs with no problems. Great picture and going out to buy another this week.
After 2 years , very loud pop sound, picture is now red and black, sometimes white vertical lines, I still have sound. Nearly $800.00 later in repair cost, not impressed with the Vizio at all. Don’t waste the money getting it fixed, buy a new non-plasma tv.
I have been so happy with my Vizio SV420XVT and its performance that I’m thinking about getting the SV505XVT for myself for Christmas
. Just a heads up though – called Vizio with some questions and they said that the SRS TruSurround was actually HD not XT like the 42/47″, so that definietly makes me interested!
vizio has great quality all the way around
We purchased a VIZIO from Costco Feb. 15, 2009. 98 days into the experience, it kept shutting itself off by itself. It finally would not show a picture nor turn on. As much as we liked the picture when it worked, our experience in customer service is awful. They needed a fax for proof of purchase. 48 hours later they were to return a call to us and they did not. We pursued it and called them. We were told they have to forward the information to a VIZIO person, and that there was NO local service place to take it or have them call on it. ( We live in metropolitin Phoenix for crying out loud!!) Now we wait for someone to call us – - and it is day 10. No TV for 10 days and no service. All we got was the run around and we are going to try to return it to COSTCO today. I will NEVER buy VIzio anything again. Their customer service sucks.

I purchased a VIZIO 32 inch plasma on June the 10th of 2008. On June the 30th of 2009 the screen went black and the set does have sound. I called VIZIO and was told that the unit was out of warranty and they could do nothing. I just replaced it with a Sylvania 32 inch LCD.
