This 50″ plasma comes bundled with a wireless subwoofer and two rear speakers (along with the three integrated ones) so you have a complete surround-sound audio setup right out of the box. The set has a native resolution of 1366 x 768, and can accept 1080i and 1080p sources but they well be downscaled to 720p. The biggest difference is that the JV50P offers more features than any other model in its price range. The set officially retails for $1799.99, but you can find it for much cheaper if you look hard enough at various online retailers.

In the tests we conducted, the image quality of the JV50P remained excellent throughout – it is comparable to most mid-priced plasmas. We didn’t encounter any signs of ghosting, and the wide viewing angle ensured that picture remained saturated. It also makes for an excellent computer monitor, and we found no problems when connecting it to gaming consoles. Vizio also provides an Image Cleaner feature that will remove ghosting or burn-ins. A minor qualm about video processing chip, which came across as satisfactory, but a better engine would be more than welcome. Overall, the VIZIO JV50P could be a great solution for someone looking to get a new high-definition display. Couple that with its built-in audio receiver and speakers, very decent picture quality for its price range, extensive set of features, and ease of setup, it comes highly recommended for those looking for a good display at a great price.
