Samsung PN50B550 Review: 50” Plasma HDTV

Up for Review: Samsung PN50B550 Plasma TV. This is indeed a classy TV from Samsung with all the innovative features. It has a very attractive look characterized by the E-panel with Filter Bright antiglare technology. Because of this technology, the glare is much lessened and you can keep it under any lighting conditions. Be it very dim or very bright lights; the images can be clearly seen without any glare. This is also good for the eyes of people who love to sit in front of the TV for hours. The panel is surrounded by a Touch of Color cabinet which gives off a grayish tint at the edges. This gray color imparts an elegant look to the completely black bezel.

The dynamic contrast ratio is another attractive feature in this HDTV. It has a very high value of 2,000,000:1 complemented by a very high brightness level too (1500 cd/m²). These high values contribute to a very good picture quality along with excellent black levels. The blacks as well as the whites are distinctly clear and real. The color also receives special attention with Wide Color Enhancer2. The colors look so vibrant that on the large 50” screen, it is sometimes difficult to differentiate between the real people in the room and the characters in the TV.
