Samsung PN50B450 Review: 50” Plasma HDTV
Up for Review: Samsung PN50B450 Plasma TV. Perfect for watching the cars whiz by in the Formula One championships, this HDTV concentrates on developing the fastest refresh rates to keep you seated on the edge of your seat. Watching movies is equally interesting because of the 600 Hz subfield motion. The action packed scenes are particularly exciting. With a 0.001 ms response time, you can watch all the action using the gaming consoles too. Playing your favorite video games can be a terrific experience with such a high refresh rate.
And adding to this is clarity of the E-Panel with FilterBright antiglare technology. The glare from light sources in the room is absolutely ruled out allowing you to place the TV anywhere in the room. The contrast is maximized to 2,000,000:1 which seems a little questionable. But at the same time, the black levels are absolutely perfect with the darkest blacks and the lightest whites. The picture quality however receives a slight dent with the absence of a 1080p resolution. The 720p is alright for TV shows but a higher resolution is absolutely a must for watching movies on the Blu-ray disc player.

With the intention of providing the best picture quality possible, Samsung has included a very high brightness and contrast. The very bright and the extremely dark pixels in a scene can be seen clearly. With the Wide Color Enhancer2, the color is also given a special attention. A number of shades are available making the skin tones appear perfectly natural. And to stream all these attractive images to the TV is the built-in HDTV tuner. You can watch all the free-to-air channels on the TV without the need of a set top box.
Watching movies on the Blu-ray disc player can become an easy experience with the addition of 3 HDMI. Other inputs include composite A/V and PC. The PC input can make it possible to convert the HDTV to a computer monitor. In this way, it can serve two purposes at the same time. And this TV is not at all heavily priced for it comes with a price tag of $999.99 MSRP. This is quite nominal for a plasma TV of this size. For those who wish to get a big TV for a less price and who don’t have a special affinity for 1080p resolution, this TV is just perfect for you.

Do you have this Samsung tv? I did and it worked good until it stopped working and now it is JUNK! It lasted 21months and died and would cost 2600.00 to repair a 800.00 tv. Your review sounds like you were sitting on yheir showroom floor.
