The Philips 50PFP5332D/37 is another lower priced, large HDTV plasma set that appears to be a good value buy. 50-inch Plasma’s are a pretty standard size but you won’t usually find one for under $1500 like the 50PFP5332D. It also includes great stereo sound with virtual Dolby Digital surround sound. One downside to the Philips 50PFP5332D is the lack of 1080p resolution which is becoming more and more popular. HD movies like HDDVD, Blu-Ray and gaming systems like the PlayStation 3 have the capability to output a 1080p signal which will still work with the 50PFP5332D but won’t be quite as sharp as a TV that is capable of displaying 1080p. Overall, the Philips 50PFP5332D is one of the better value buys available.
