Panasonic TH-P46S2 Review: 46” Plasma HDTV

Up for Review: Panasonic TH-P46S2 Plasma TV. When the world is busy eyeing the new 3D ready LED and wireless TV models, Panasonic has still been thinking about the Plasma TV lovers. It shows from this TV manufacturer showcasing two plasma TV series at the CES 2010. Adding to its already existing Viera series, it has now brought in G2 and S2 series plasma panels. Being the bigger size in the S2 series, Panasonic TH-P46S2 may find its way into some cool interiors of Japanese households. The Viera models are already pretty popular among those who love plasma TVs.

As these models are relatively lower priced than the G2 series, they can prove to be more welcoming. Panasonic TH- P46S2 ensures that you save some power and cut down your power consumption bills. With the Neo PDP technology in place, you are sure of getting sharper and detailed imaging along with perfect brightness. Ideal for screening your favorite movies with the 1080p resolution, you also get the surround sound to go well with the images you watch. You also get 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio that provides clearer images that are life like. The motion pattern noise reduction technology provides you smooth imaging without compromising on the quality.

Panasonic TH-P46S2 Features and Specifications Review:

  • 46” display
  • 1080p display resolution
  • 3 HDMI Ports
  • 2000000:1 contrast ratio
  • AR filter
  • Motion Pattern Noise Reduction
  • Aspect Ratio 16:9

Panasonic TH-P46S2 comes with a clean touch bezel and a neat appearance. It is equipped to provide you equally good experience while watching TV as well as playing your favorite games. With an aspect ratio of 16:9 capacity, it makes sure that you get similar images as you may get while watching a more high-end TV set. You can just plug in your storage devices and the Viera image viewer allows you to get the highest clarity images on your big screen. There is the Anti-Reflective filter that minimizes glare and provides sharp images taking care of your eyes.

Expecting that Panasonic doesn’t underestimate the buyers in other Asian countries as well as in the west, we can just wait for a real look at these models. But as these are only released into the Japanese electronics market, it may be a deterrent factor for the buyers. Keeping in mind the varied features that an average model should have, it may seem like an expensive bid. Panasonic itself calls this one a Quality basic model. It is yet to be seen how much attention it draws as it is a step down from the G2 series which is a higher model.

YouReviewElectronics.com gives Panasonic TH-P46S2 3/5 stars!
