Panasonic TH-P42G2 Review: 42” Plasma HDTV

Up for Review: Panasonic TH-P42G2 Plasma TV. Why would Panasonic still launch a few more plasma panels? While the answer may not actually please the technology experts, those who love plasma panels are definitely going to love the new Panasonic TH-P42G2. Panasonic has launched two new models to its existing Viera series. Both the G2 and S2 series would be launched to Japanese market. The manufacturer had earlier launched the G1 series which was welcomed well. Panasonic also promises that there would be about 30 percent more power saving in these two new series.

Panasonic TH-P42G2 however doesn’t miss out on the connectivity options. Without trying to limit the content streaming options for the viewers, Panasonic seems to be happy about providing 3 HDMI ports. With the D-Sub and S-Video and the three composite interfaces that come along with it, the model goes fine with your video game player or DVD player. Also you can make use of the Ethernet port and earphone or headphone jack as per your preference.

Panasonic TH-P42G2 Features and Specifications Review:

  • 42” display
  • 1080p display resolution
  • 3 HDMI Ports
  • 5000000:1 contrast ratio

And, added to that it also gives the buyer a color choice so that you can buy a TV that literally matches your interior. There would be three color choices. Unveiled at the CES 2010, Panasonic TH-P42G2 is one of the three sizes available in the G2 series. It comes with a thinner bezel which improves its looks ad gives a trendier look. Loaded with a 1080p Full HD resolution capacity, it is ready for streaming content from latest multimedia gadgets that you may have. It has a contrast ratio of 5000000:1. This way Panasonic ensures that the viewer gets more blacks and whites as well as other hues. The pioneer plasma black panel has also been integrated.

Looks like Panasonic TH-P50G2 may just be a good model with all these features. At the same time it may be a bit expensive and people who want more options in an LED or LCD TV may just ignore its many features. Even the manufacturer is smart enough to launch it into Japanese market and hopefully the TV reaches the other primary Asian markets so that more buyers get to have one. And being the lowest size in this series, this one happens to be the cheapest of all the three plasma panels.

YouReviewElectronics.com gives Panasonic TH-P50G2 3/5 stars!
