Whether it’s about enhancing the picture quality or adding a few interactive features, Panasonic seems to never forget the people who love to take home a Plasma TV. Taking care of the Plasma TV market that also needs the latest features in television technology to be incorporated into those models as well, Panasonic has tried to hand on a few of the most talked about features in its G20 series. If the G10 series has invited attention then the G20 series that is a step ahead in technology is bound to get some heads turn. The new Panasonic TC-P50G20, which is a twin for the G25 series with only a few things missing, provides with some of the amusing features like enhanced picture quality and new communication suites.
As talked about, Panasonic TC-P50G20 also brings in some nice interactive features with its VIERA Cast-WiFi w/ VideoPhone Capabilities. You talk about web entertainment and you are served hot with this feature. However, you would need to shell out some more cash buying the relevant gadgets to get the best out of your plasma TV. The TV is powered to let you use Skype audio and video chat but you would need to use external web cam and a microphone headset for using this feature. While the usual online sources like Picasa, YouTube, Amazon video etc are already provided, Netflix gets to be enabled in June this year. If you love twitting, you can also do it along with using Pandora for your favorite content.

Great TV, but you MUST do an automatic firmware update via wifi or network connection before you can access the Netflix and other Viera TV functions. 50″ is a great size, because you don’t miss out on much vertical height like with smaller HDTV’s. Much smoother and filmic compared very interlaced (and almost HDR/video game in appearance) looking LCD’s.
Very smooth play with zero visible artifacts no matter what is being viewed. Over the air DTV even looked real good, but HD cable/satellite is the way to go. Let’s hope the blacks hold up on this series much better than 2009′s. Word on the street is that they fixed that problem.
The extra money spent on plasma was well worth it, and Best Buy is offering great package deals with the Viera series, so be on the look out. The Panasonic 50″ plasma model just above this has similar viewing specs, but expanded internet options, but were cool with Netflix.
