Panasonic TC-P46G10 Review: 46” Plasma HDTV
Up for review: Panasonic TC-P46G10 Plasma TV. The TC-P46G10 is a technological breakthrough from Panasonic. It can be compared with any HDTV in the market. The picture quality is exceptional along with the color standard. The THX certification is a mark of good quality which bears testimony to the fact that the pictures are excellent. It costs more than competitive models, but you are sure to get a good value for your price.
A review shows that this Plasma HDTV has a very thin frame especially at the edges. A touch of silver at the bottom of the bezel adds glamour to the Panasonic TC-P46G10. It has a circular fixed stand which cannot swivel around. The speakers are hidden from view making the HDTV rather sleek in appearance.
The remote is a good one with prominent hot keys for VIERA Cast, VIERA Link and VIERA Tools. There is a backlight beneath certain important buttons. The size, color and shape differentiate the buttons from each other. There are select buttons for select purposes. You can use the remote to control other compatible devices via the VIERA Link. The menus on the screen are good enough for navigation. However, it lacks the necessary explanation of the icons.

The VIERA Cast feature offers access to YouTube videos, stocks and weather information on select sites and photos on the internet. An Ethernet port on the Panasonic TC-P46G10 helps you access all these features. You can even monitor the different rooms of your house with networked cameras connected to the HDTV. A review shows that there are 4 picture modes and a fifth Custom mode which does not depend on the input. The Game mode is akin to a Picture mode.
It has 1080p resolution with a contrast ratio of 40,000:1. This means that the contrast is far superior to on the previous models. The THX certification makes sure that the HDTV is at par with the home theater specifications. It also boasts of an Infinite Black feature which means that the black levels must be excellent. The price is on the higher side but a look at the features will increase its rating in the market. It is expected to be a good investment for Panasonic.
