Panasonic TC-P46C2 Review: 46” Plasma HDTV
Up for Review: Panasonic TC-P46C2 Plasma TV. Panasonic has been developing Plasma TVs with great confidence and this particular model happens to be one of the more basic ones lacking both the highlights of this year’s HDTVs. Short of both 3D technology and Viera Cast, this TV will suffice for those who want to upgrade from their existing TV where they are acquainted to watch the average TV fare. The price is of course a great attraction and you can avail this TV with improved technology for just $665. Most of the people interested to have a second TV in the house may opt for this model because of its price.
Another reason for the low price of this model is the 720p resolution. This feature will only infuriate you if you want to watch movies on the Blu-ray disc player. Although the source allows 1080p resolution, you can watch only 720p which will not give the desired sharpness and clarity. However, since most of you aim to watch the entertainment dished out to you in the TV programs through talk shows and soaps, there won’t be much of a problem. Most of the TV programs are telecast in 720p. In fact, if you can get good picture quality for a lesser price, then there is hardly any point in paying more.
Panasonic TC-P46C2 Features and Specifications Review:
- 46” HDTV
- 720p HD Resolution
- 600Hz Sub-Field Drive
- Anti-Reflective Filter
- NEO PDP
- HDMI
- USB

- VIERA Link
A comparison of the picture quality in the LCDs and the Panasonic Plasma models released this year brought to notice the fact that the Plasma TVs give much better images than the LCD ones. This has been attributed to the 600Hz Sub-Field Drive. This technology is capable of giving better image quality than even the 240 Hz refresh rate in the LCDs. And with the NeoPDP panels doing their bit to give crisp images, it makes sense to invest in this Plasma model. The NeoPDP panel not only gives a higher contrast and more brightness but removes glares and cuts down the electricity bills as well.
Although Panasonic has not included the Viera Cast feature, it has kept intact the Viera Image Viewer and the Viera Link technologies. With the Viera Image viewer, you can click as many pictures as you want on your camera and show them to your friends and family on the 46-inch screen. Similarly, the Viera Link helps you to use a single remote for all the devices that you have connected to the TV. This will help you feel more organized. This set is a good one if you can be satisfied with just the basic features.

This size is not very common for plasma. Panasonic is putting out some fantastic TVs. They are kicking Sony, Samsung and all the rest of the brands in the teeth when it comes to quality. Very impressive quality, especially the G and V series.
