Mitsubishi WD-73833 Review: 73” DLP HDTV
Up for Review: Mitsubishi WD-73833 DLP TV. This huge display can be a great attraction to many consumers. There is a unique blue light which illuminates the front display but which can be turned off as well. The speakers are located below the screen and thus you get the impression of an all-picture display. The glossy black finish is good but gives rise to reflections from the screen. The remote available with the set has red backlighting and is small enough to fit in the hands quite nicely.
There are four picture modes of Brilliant, Natural, Bright and Game. But there is a decline in the color temperature controls with only two options of High and Low. Perfect Color and Perfect Tint features take care of the color settings. All primary and secondary colors can be adjusted to give a beautiful effect to the images. DeepColor and x.v. color are also responsible for lending a realistic effect to the images. However, there are hardly any high definition sources which support these technologies.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the Mitsubishi WD-73833 is the 120 Hz refresh rate. A review shows that it is the best way to get rid of judder. You can now watch action scenes without any blurring. This HDTV is also 3D ready but you need specific glasses to notice the effects. The content on view should also be compatible with 3D.

The Mitsubishi WD-73833 includes a two-unit IR-emitter which is used to activate the NetCommand system. This can help the TV to control AV devices and set-top box for cable programs. Additionally, there are many connectivity options. There are 4 HDMI, 3 component video inputs, 2 composite video and 2 S-video, 2 RF inputs and 2 FireWire. These ports are located at the side and rear of the TV.
The color is not very accurate in the Mitsubishi WD-73833. The video performance is also not up to the mark. There is a lot of noise in the images. But the black levels are pretty good with deep blacks and the most brilliant whites. The overall performance of the HDTV is quite good barring a few issues. The price tag is however, on the higher side. But people interested to see images on a large screen will surely opt for this TV.
