If you look hard enough, you can find it for a couple of hundred less at various online retailers. This set is an ideal buy if you want support for the highest resolution, as well as a large screen size. The design itself is breathtaking: an elegantly designed charcoal grey chassis. The VW47LF is an outstanding HDTV in almost every sense of the word. Remember, we’re talking about a full 1080p, 47″ set at around $1,400 – you’d be hard pressed to find a better deal. Specs aside, the picture quality looked gorgeous on this display. You also get 3 HDMI ports, so you can hook up your home theater, as well as gaming consoles all at the same time. One shortcoming of the set is the sound – the integrated speakers get the job done. But if you need richer and higher quality sound, you’d be better off hooking the set to your home theater sound equipments. This isn’t something new, and we’d love it if Vizio improves the acoustics in its next series of HDTVs. And surprisingly, there is no picture-in-picture. But for what its worth, the VIZIO VW47LF is one of the best 47″ sets you can buy – if not the very best.
