I just got this T.V. last week and am very satisfied with it. We looked at a 50″ Samsung, but to me this T.V had a better picture. Maybe the Samsung just needed adjusting. This is the second Vizio that I bought bought in the last year. Both have great pictures. I would recommend them to anyone.

We just bought the VT470M and the picture is great. I had some sales person tell me that VIISIO uses the same displays as Samsung only last years technology. Believe he was disturbed that Visio is 30% less in price as the Panasonic and Sony models with the same performance and they were not carried in his store. I would do it again and recommend everyone consider a Vizio.

It is real nice that Mr. William Wang of Vizio has the same business foresight of Sam Walton that selling quality products at affordable price is better than huge profit with less sales.
I have bought 3 Vizio TVs (different sizes) and am happy about my choice.

I just purchased my Vizio, and I love the way it looks, sooo simple. The picture is great, and the sound is better than most flat panels. The only issue I have with my Viz, is that, in the manual it states that, using a USB flash drive, or other usb product, it will read and play video formats like AVI, MOV, and etc. BUT, the only video format I can seem to get it to play is wmv….. It pops up video codec not supported on avi’s and will play the audio, and with some video types it claims to play, like mov, it shows video and audio codecs not supported. Wish I could update the tv’s codecs as simple as I can my computer, wouldn’t that be awesome, I say give it 2 years, and every new tv will allow downloads…..

OH and PS I purchased this TV by mistake, but oh, what a great mistake it was…. Was suppose to by one that was same as display, didn’t pay attention, got it home, and was like, I didn’t buy the right tv… Walmart customer service sucks, but everything happens for a reason, that reason being, the one I was suppose to buy was an outdated, cheaper one… I got this for the same price… $830…. And only $60 extra for the extended warranty…. Walmart has great prices, but you definitely need to walk in there knowing exactly what you want, and do your homework, because they don’t know diddly, and make sure your box matches the model number you wanted… I got lucky, but, I’m sure it won’t happen to me again…

I purchased this TV and so far am pleased with the look and features. My only issue is that on some SD channels (through DirecTV) we are getting lines at the top of the picture. I know that this is an overscan problem. Is there any way to adjust picture position on this set to nudge the picture up just a fraction of an inch? Anyone else have this issue?

Just purchased this TV yesterday (floor model @ Sam’s Club). Rented Disney Earth on Blu-Ray, picture is eye-popping. Color is vibrant, details are super sharp, blacks are black. No evidence of motion blur (though this is not a “fast action” movie). Standard def DVD also looked outstanding. Store may have already set it up good, it was definitely “plug and play” when I got it home. Never had to even look at the manual, had a picture up in seconds flat. Remote seems very intuitive. Sound is more than adequate (I don’t expect a TV set to sound like a surround sound system). SD programming via old DirecTV receiver and coax cable was comparable to our old tube TV…expect it to be even better once we get DirecTV HD receiver connected via HDMI.

I purchased this TV about a month and a half ago, and honestly I am not pleased at all with the picture, it leaves a trail when they move and the pixels are extremely noticeable. I had regular DirecTV and they told me that was the problem, so I got the DirecTV HD and there is NO change in the picture watsoever. Even the HD channels look blurry. Does anyone know of any way to help? Maybe the settings? Let me know at giracheta@uh.edu

Gilberto, I am having the same problem as you. The pixels are extremely noticeable. I had it connected through HDMI to my blu ray player watching the Hurt Locker and the image was awful. Image on DVD’s, blu-ray and cable were all terrible. Does anyone have an suggestions for settings as I am sure that is the issue seeing that most people are quite happy with their image.
Email me at jdw.wright@ttu.edu if you have a solution. Thanks

I was very skeptical when I purchased 2 Vizio televisions at Costco Wholesale in Phoenix Arizona in 2008. Most of the price of the television reflects the quality picture you are going to get. Not in this case. The televisions are up and running on display at Costco Wholesale and I walked by the Sony, Samsung and stopped when I got to the Vizio because of the picture quality. I could not believe the cost of the vizio, as it was hundreds cheaper than the 2 others I mentioned above. I had a problem with the 42 in. set and called Costco and a Vizio repairman was out in 2 days to fix the problem with no hastles or cost after over a year and a half after purchase. Both my 42 in. and 47 in Vizios are excellent pictures, and I can’t say enough about the quality of service that you get from Vizio, they are very professionals, and will continue to buy Vizios for as long as they make them. Try one–You will like it. By the way I am not affiliated with nor know anyone representing Vizio, I am telling everyone my truthful experience with Vizio. Very satisfied customer in Phoenix, AZ and love the hundreds I saved compared to very well known brands. Sony and Samsung, etc. have excellent reputations, and some people think they have to buy one of these names to get the quality, I did in the past. When a new name not that old in the industry like Vizio comes into the television, most people are skeptical just like I was, I was amazed by everything about the Vizio and I am sure you will be too, so if money is no object go buy a Sony or ? if you want to save hundreds and still get the quality, buy a vizio. Thank You for reading my rewiew, do your homework and I think you will feel the same way I do.

Bought tv last jan. but sound was so low even at level 100 you could hardly hear, so I returned to walmart since it was within 90 day period. Well now 1 yr and 3 months later something about the power has gone out. We have good sound but no picture. Visio was good to give me two 800 numbers to see how much to get fixed. A pricey tv to be having to be fixed so soon. Also had bluray player go out, but thankfully was in warranty period. Now I’m a little leary of visio name

We received this tv from the vizio company because our first vizio went out right before outr warranty expired. Now 14 months later this one went out!!! Of course right after the warranty expired…which i thought we had because i purchased extra warranty but they go back to the first tv…..So that equals two tvs in just a little over 2 years. I would sure think that they should last longer than a year for what we have to pay for these things!!!!!! and maybe they need to explain the warranty better!!! I tshould start when you get the new tv!!!!!!!!!!!
