Just bought this model from Costco for $699. Install was easy but am having trouble with the "fine tuning" of sound and picture. I have a Comcast HD DVR but for some reason I can't seem to get the picture to use the full screen. I know it's possible cuz I have other friends with Comcast. I've gone back and forth with Vizio tech support and Comcast tech support and they just keep blaming each other... I'm about to take the TV back.

I purchased this TV yesterday and tested with with all kind of media, from x-box 360 to my PC. The image quality is the best you can get for the price, i compared it to other friends 42" LCD FHD (Samsung and LG) and this one its far better than LG and identical or better than Samsung. The thing is that as many Full HD televisions, Standard Definition movies doesn't look very good (All TV that i've seen so far look bad with 480p movies/ tv series), but when you put something from 720p to 1080p its very impressive, ijust love the way the colors look and its the factory preset im using. I really dont regret buying this one instead of the more expensive and comparable Samsumg model. A good buy for your money.

Got this tv from Vizio other day as a replacment for the VO42L FHDTV That I brought from COSTCO I must comend Vizio I do not have HI-Def programming but the picture after a little fine tuning is out of this world have not had chance to watch a bluray yet but I am happy so far def worth the $6bills I payed Costco over summer for other one. These people really stand behind their products if you have a problem nice to see in this day and age.

I am very happy with my Visio VL420M that I bought from COSTO for $800 9/1/09. Setup to my COMCAST HDTV DVR was fast and EZ. Everything was working in less than 30 min. from bring box in door. I used COMCAST provided component cables. Picture and sound are EXCELLENT! VCR and DVR work well. I have used with my PC and with digital photos on a flash thumb drive directly connected to the USB port--and all work very well. I particularly like the built-in digital picture display software--makes family viewing of photos very EZ with super quality. I had a Fantasy Football draft party with 6, 30-something sports fans and they all commented on the excellence of the HDTV DVR playback. I would recommend this set to anybody.

Purchased 9/6/09. good picture, but looses audio when switched to HD(HDMI connection) channel from non HD. Can restore audio thru HDMI connection, but is necessary after every visit to a non-HD channel. Audio works fine thru componet cables connection, but quality of picture is diminished. Cable Box and HDMI cables have been exchanged three times....two different mfg's. Returned TV to retailer and exchanged for a new one, same model.....same problem exists. Vizio Tech Rep left voice mail advising their engineers are aware of some audio problems with this model but have no answers for a fix?????
