Vizio VF552XVT Review: 55” LCD LED HDTV
Up for Review: Vizio VF552XVT LCD TV. Trying to face up to the challenge of launching Internet connected TVs, Vizio has launched new models to cater to the growing need of the consumers. These new models include the Vizio VF552XVT which has TruLED and Smart Dimming technology. This technology will help the new HDTVs to save a lot of power and also be less stressful on the eyes. The LED lights cause a lot less heat to be produced too.
The Vizio Internet Apps (VIA) is the latest function to be integrated in the Vizio VF552XVT. It gives several widgets which can be shown as full-blown applications on the HDTV display. These may include internet sites like Twitter, Flickr and many other sites which provide news about stocks and weather too.
A review of the Vizio VF552XVT shows that it has a resolution of 1080p and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. A full HD resolution adds to the already existing great picture quality. The refresh rate makes sure that there is absolutely no flickering and blurring. The noise factor in the images is also taken care of.

I bought the VF552XVT at BJ’s for $1699… I love this TV. Picture is eyepopping, the internet apps are fun and I cand’t wait for more to become available! Streaming movies over the internet is crisp and clear. The sound quality is impressive for an LCD TV.
I’m glad I bought mine!

I’ve had my VF552XVT for 60 days and it just took a dump. The Lighted VIZIO just flashes from white to orange and will not turn on. I tried unplugging and resetting the TV but to no avail. A tech from VIZIO called me and said that he works part-time for them at night, after his day job. He also said VIZIO is sending him the power & main circuit boards to replace.
I can’t believe I just bought a Large screen LED TV from a manufacturer that has a part time field service dept. This is something to concern yourself about when making a big ticket TV purchase. Maybe I can still return this POS before the 90 days is up.
I’m not glad I bought mine!

The one I bought worked great for two weeks and then red pixels started shining in all of the dark parts of the picture. It looked like red glitter had been sprinkled on everything that was supposed to be dark. Now it is ok when I first turn it on but after a couple of minutes the red glitter is back. They offered to come out and repair it but I think I got a lemon and will return it to Costco under their 90 day return policy.
Had TV for 10 days and it would not light up. Called Vizio, tech said it could be fixed with in a week and half…not acceptable. Took it back to the store!
The TV has an amazing image quality and sound, but tech support is awful. I have this TV since August this year and the remote doesn’t work at all now. I’ve asked for help but tech support hasn’t given me a solution yet!
I just got tv on black Friday. Today the vizio sign is flashing at me. This sucks
Those with the flashing power buttons, unplug it for 5-10 minutes and try it again….
Mine works great! No issues at all….great price, under $1400, shipped!
No problems yet? Love this TV. Hope to have many years.
Just received my tv today, took it out of the box, plugged it in, and nothing. Went through the tech support line and said I would get a call back in 24 to 48 hours for a service appointment. I will be calling the after 24 hours to stress to them that a broken tv should not have been shipped and that I am expecting to be moved to the top of the service list. I will update again once I get resolution on this 55″ box that does not work.
Reading some of these reviews I guess I should consider myself lucky that mine has lasted as long as it has. I’ve had the TV since March of 2010 and, until recently, have had only a few minor problems/annoyances. Last week, however, I started getting a sort of “strobe” effect happening on the screen. The picture is still viewable, but it has various dark spots that move around on the screen very fast like a strobe light. It makes the TV very difficult to watch. The first time it happened I turned the TV off and on and then the entire bottom half of the screen went dark, but you can still see through it. Maybe dim is a better word than dark. Adjusting the contrast helps a bit, but the strobe effect is difficult to get past. I am upset about having to shop for a new TV this soon after laying out $1700. Not sure other brands won’t have the same or other problems, but I think something that costs this much should last AT LEAST five years. Before this happened, I was happy with the TV.
