VIZIO SV471XVT Review – 47″ LCD TV
Up for review: Vizio SV471XVT. The new 47” SV471XVT is one of the larger models of the newly launched XVT series of the VIZIO group. With the launch of the XVT series, VIZIO enters into 240Hz fray. This new VIZIO SV471XVT has improvised dejudder processing as compared to its earlier models. Priced at around $1,399, it ismuch cheaper than many of its high-end HDTV peers.
Endowed with 240Hz refresh rate, which is double than may of the standard 120Hz processing, the new VIZIO SV471XVT is definitely expected to produce realistic image quality minus any artifacts. The Smooth Motion II™ technology along with the scanning backlight embedded in this LCD TV ensures smoother picture quality. SV471XVT’s Mega Dynamic Contrast ratio 50,000:1 further takes care to eliminate motion blur especially in the fast action sequences. The VIZIO SV471XVT is expected to be available in the market around summer 2009.

User Reviews
• Pros: Amazing Television. This TV has an excellent picture (very bright, very clear, limited ghosting that you get with the 60Hz and even the 120Hz) that even the top dollar brands that cost nearly twice as much can beat.
Cons: The only thing I wish it had would be LED backlighting and had the web-enabled features the next model will have.
The bottom line is this TV is one of the best that I could find for your dollar. It has the features that in other brands would cost about $1000 more. VIZIO is defiantly the way to go for any consumer on a budget. Both Father In-Law and myself own VIZIO TV’s and are very happy with our purchases. He has had his for about 2 months and I have had mine for right at a week. My only worry is how long will it work. I have read many reviews in the past of VIZIO owners having issues with their TV after the warranty is up. I guess only time will tell…..
Visio does list a USB port on this TV. but this site does
I meant to say Viso does NOT list a USB port for this TV
Had this TV about a week and so far I love it. The picture is amazing even though I don’t have a Digital cable box yet. The images are superb. I don’t think you can beat this TV for the money. Bought it at Costco for $1,099.
I purchased the Vizio VLM470 a month ago and today purchased the 240 hz Vizio SV471XVT. Both are great televisions but there is a picture difference.
Despite only having 120hz, the VLM470 has a significantly clearer picture than does the SV471XVT. I don’t understand it. The VLM470 picture is so clear that movies don’t look like movies but actually look like a movie set. The SV471XVT is $100 more than the VLM470 and movies do look like movies. The 240hz refresh rate of the SV471XVT doesn’t seem to do a thing. Has anyone else seen this difference? I’m about to take the SV471XVT back.
I agree with Paul H. I am experiencing graininess that I wouldn’t expect with a 240hz. It is worse than the Sony 60hz I was repacing. I am taking mine back.
I just purchased a Vizio sv471xvt and I am very pleased. This t.v has really impressed me.For those looking at purchasing one at a reasonable price and still get superb quality this is it.Keep in mind you need good hdmi cables and hd signal from cable or dish or else well expect a not so clear picture or blury effect.I personally us my ps3 and it looks great.Looking foward to future products from this company.
Not true 240hz. 120hz with backlighting enhancement.
Will wait for second tier makers (Vizio/LG/Etc) to get true 240hz.
