The feature-rich VIZIO GV46LF LCD HDTV offers a great bargain for those looking for a large-screen high-definition television. Official list price is $1,699, but you can easily find it on the right side of $1,200. This model comes in a piano black bezel finish, with silver accented speakers. The speakers and base is detachable so you can mount the set on a wall. Just like its smaller sibling, this 46 inch LCD offers full 1080p support, and is compatible with all HD formats, all the way up to 1920 x 1080.

The GV46LFHDTV10a held its own in the picture quality tests we conducted. Colors remained accurate throughout, with very decent levels of black. We did not notice any ghosting whatsoever, both with media playback and television signals. Speaking of which, the regular television signals displayed very minor graininess – that is common with all 1080p sets. It also offers excellent viewing angles of 178°, both horizontally and vertically. This means you can enjoy watching content with the whole family and everyone will get the same great picture. And with the 500 cd/m2, the liquid crystals on this set are bright enough for you to put the set anywhere, including near doors, lamps and windows, and the picture still remains vivid. The integrated sound could use slightly more work, though. Its decently rich, but you’d be better off with a dedicated surround-sound setup if you want the best possible sound quality. In closing, this is probably one of the best, if not the best, 46″ LCD TV you can find – both in terms of picture quality and price.
