Viore LC26VH55 Review: 26” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: Viore LC26VH55 LCD TV. This is one of the basic offerings from Viore with an intention to cater to the people who want to view an HDTV but for a very less price. It compromises on several issues to provide a set which you can buy as a second HDTV for your house. People who have a limited budget for such luxuries can afford to buy this HDTV and have the pleasure of watching high definition video with a good audio to match. The display is also quite good for viewing in small rooms.

A review shows that this HDTV has a resolution of 720p which is fairly good to watch high definition programs. Since most of the programs telecast on TV are in 720p, there is no use paying a higher price for 1080p. You will feel the difference only when you watch a movie on the Blu-ray disc player or use the gaming console. A 1080p resolution would certainly make the experience more enjoyable. A contrast ratio of 800:1 also does not do justice to the black levels. A higher contrast ratio would certainly have made a lot of difference to the picture quality.

Viore LC26VH55 Features and Specifications Review:

  • 26” display
  • VGA PC interface
  • TFT active matrix technology
  • 1366 x 768 resolution
  • 16:9 aspect ratio
  • 800:1 contrast ratio
  • 160 degrees viewing angle
  • NTSC/ATSC tuner
  • Infrared remote control
  • Parental channel lock
  • 2 speakers of 16W
  • 3 HDMI
  • 1 year warranty

The connectivity options are surprisingly very good. There are as many as 3 HDMI for connecting high definition devices. You can now connect the gaming consoles and play a lot of games with your kids. In the same way, you can watch a movie on the DVD player along with your loved one. Downloading videos from the camcorder can also be a lot of fun. Other inputs include component and composite video inputs and an S-video input. There is also a VGA input to help you to use the HDTV as a computer monitor. You can now browse the net on a larger display.

The audio is quite good with 2 speakers having 16W output power. This is an improvement over the 6W output of the 22-inch model. The audio will enable you to hear very good audio in small rooms. The remote is an Infrared one which will allow you to control all devices connected to the TV. The ATSC/NTSC tuner is helpful in getting free-to-air signals. The viewing angle is not too good and you will get to see color fading at the edges. But for a low price, this HDTV is alright for the average viewer.
