Viore LC22VF59 Review: 22” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: Viore LC22VF59 LCD TV. Viore is all set to take up the challenge of providing very good HDTVs, especially in the smaller display segment. There is a subtle difference in the outer design of the different models. But all of them are black with slim bezels. The lower part of the HDTVs differs in design but all of them also have their speakers placed at the base with a decent audio quality. It has an audio output of 6W to its credit. In fact, the audio could have been far better compared to its own output power in other models which sport 24W power.

The Viore LC22VF59 has a full HD 1080p resolution. This feature enables you to watch all high definition signals easily. The high definition devices can be a camcorder, Blu-ray disc player and gaming consoles. A 720p resolution would have led to difficulty in watching movies also. But since this HDTV has 1080p resolution, you can watch movies with very good picture quality. The images look perfectly natural with beautiful color and natural skin tones.

Viore LC22VF59 Features and Specifications Review:

  • 22” display
  • HDMI, VGA PC interface
  • TFT active matrix technology
  • 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • 16:9 aspect ratio
  • 1000:1 contrast ratio
  • Progressive scanning
  • NTSC/ATSC tuner
  • 2 speakers of 6W
  • 1 HDMI
  • 1 year warranty

A contrast ratio of 1000:1 is not very good for consistent black levels. There is scope for improving the white and the black levels. Consequently, the images are also affected but the good color spectrum accounts for the natural images. It would be better if the contrast ratios could be considerably improved. The brightness is on the better side being 300 cd/m2. The aspect ratio is the same as in most other sets at 16:9. All the basic features of a good HDTV are present in this set and for a very competitive price.

The viewing angle is definitely a point of contention in this TV. The images are good only if you sit in front of the TV. They tend to wash out at the edges. The picture quality is severely affected at the edges. However, the connectivity is good with 1 HDMI, 1 component video and 1 composite video input. There is also a S-video input. The VGA input takes care of converting the HDTV into a computer monitor. The features are good for the price $237.97 MSRP. It will serve the needs of the average consumer who has a limited budget.
