Another review from the ViewSonic family is the larger sibling, the 42 inch ViewSonic N4290P. It is literally identical to the 40 inch offering from the same company, and even retails at the same price point of $1,399. Which is a steal, considering the screen real estate and feature set this display offers. With full support for 60 frames per second at 1080p, and a lightening fast response time of 6 ms, you’ll get great picture, irrespective of the source. It features the same black bezel finish as the one used by earlier models in this series. Before we get to the performance, let’s take a look at the specs of this display.

The N4290P performs similar to the smaller-sized models in the company’s range. Having said that, because of the large screen size, you might get a slightly grainy picture when you connect this to a standard-definition source. HD content, on the other hand, remained sharp and crisp, with particularly deep levels of black. The fast response time ensures almost no ghosting, however fast the images moved. You do get a variety of resolutions when you connect this beast to the PC – it is good enough to display the latest games at the highest resolutions without any hitch. While the ViewSonic N4290P carries the same pros of its earlier siblings, it also carries the same cons. Lack of picture-in-picture display is one. Other than that, if you’re looking to buy a large screen, without breaking the bank, then look no further.
YouReviewElectronics.com gives the ViewSonic N4290P LCD HDTV 9/10 stars!
