Bought a Toshiba 52" LCD tv model rv52s535U 21 months ago.Picture is still great, but now I get a wire thin red line down the center. Appears about 1 hr after being turned on. Repair guy came out, checked it over. Bad panel. Glad it is still watchable. The red line goes away sometimes Only annoying on liight background.Called Toshiba, they said there are no know issues. Sure, guess they dont go online and do Google searches.

Do not buy this brand of lcd. Always bought Toshiba brand in the past. Guess that has ended.

same complaint. bought the tv 9/08. 11/10 a 6" vertical gray line runs from top to bottom of the screen. repair shop & toshiba tell us the "t-con board" is backordered. "IF" this does not fix it ($350.00) the whole panel will need to be replaced ($1600.00). if you dare buy toshiba---get the EXTENDED WARRANTY!

I Bought a 52 inch Toshiba about 16 months ago and 1/3 on my screen is now vertical lines the repair shop told me my panel went bad and it would be $2700 to fix. I paid $1700 for the tv new. I would have thought a name that portraited there product as one of the best would be of better quality I was wrong. TOSHIBA PRODUCTS ARE SHIT.... I will never buy another thing that has that generic name on it ever again and I advise anyone thinking of purchasing one to look at other quality products not this JUNK.

I bought a 52 inch Toshiba 15 months ago. Now the screen is split on it. I took it to 2 different TV repair men and they both said that the LCD panel went bad on it. I asked how could it have happened? Lightening? Power surge? They said "To be honest with you, it was poor manufacturing." An LCD panel is $3,000.00 according to both TV repair men. I called Toshiba to see if they would do something to help me out since my warranty was only up a couple of months ago. They said that they would review my case and get back to me. They never got back to me until a week and a half later. They then informed me that they understood my frustration but that the 1 year warranty is up and that they would not do anything to help me get my TV fixed or to help replace my TV. It was a BEAUTIFUL Tv. However, you can't watch it when half of the TV goes fuzzy on the screen and the other half is fine! This TV went bad not at my fault, but at the fault of Toshiba when they manufactured the product. And who would buy a 3,000.00 LCD panel that is more expensive than the TV itself...that doesn't even make sence. All that they had to say to me was "Sorry maam, we understand your frustration, but we have to draw the line somewhere." My advice to anyone looking to buy a new TV, DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA! They do not stand behind their products and do not care about their customers!! Please do not make the same mistake that I did.
