Toshiba 52XV645U Review: 52” LCD HDTV

Up for review: Toshiba 52XV645U LCD HDTV.  Toshiba has brought about a sea of change in the looks and technology of its latest Regza line. An impressive Deep Lagoon design together with a state-of-the-art engine and excellent viewing opportunities are the hallmark of the Toshiba 52XV645U. Its huge 52” screen and innovative design will remind you of a 3D effect. A review shows that the cosmetic design has been inspired by nature. There are invisible speakers which further add to the look of the HDTV, making it look a lot sleeker.

Toshiba has also not compromised in connectivity. You can easily connect to A/V components with the RegzaLink™. The InstaPort feature will also enable you to access HDMI inputs faster. It will overcome the delay of a few seconds that we experience while changing between the HDMI inputs. You have to only select a HDMI source and you will be connected in a flash. The Toshiba 52XV645U also has a USB port by which you get to see the JPEG photos and listen to MP3 music. You can even use the SD card slot to advantage by plugging in a camcorder or a camera to watch the JPEG photos on the TV screen.

Toshiba promises a high picture quality by employing a fifth generation engine PixelPure® 5G. It utilizes a 14-bit digital video processor to enhance the gradation and create more natural images. This engine also makes use of the latest enhancements like the 2D Luma Enhancement, 2D Chroma enhancement, adaptive noise reduction and dynamic sharpness. Toshiba 52XV645U brings to the fore Resolution+ super resolution technology. This feature helps to convert any less-than-HD content to full-HD content. It does not matter if you have a 480i, 480p or 720p source; you will always see the best. This technology enhances the smallest details of every image.

Toshiba 52XV645U Features and Specifications Review:

  • 52” screen
  • 1080p resolution
  • 120 Hz processing
  • Auto View enabled
  • 14-bit internal digital processor
  • Dolby Volume
  • LED backlight
  • 4 HDMI inputs
  • SD card slot
  • USB port
  • ClearScan Advanced Frame technology

You can now get the best home theatre experience by the new ClearScan 240 technology in the Toshiba 52XV645U. The new backlight scanning technology from Toshiba is combined with 120 Hz scan rate by the ClearScan 240 to provide the effect of 240 Hz scan rate. The effect is simulated and not real. This increases the potential of action scenes which can now be viewed without any judder.

A review of the Toshiba 52XV645U shows that the FocaLight LED backlight feature with Local Dimming puts the focus on uniform brightness. The dynamic contrast ratio is enhanced and the blacks appear darker than ever before, but without compromising in the white levels. The image quality is further enhanced by AutoView™ feature. The technology makes use of a sensor which can sense the room lighting required. The color temperature also can be automatically set for the perfect ambiance.

The Dolby Volume takes care of the volume fluctuations. The change in volume can be very disturbing when the commercials come on or you change channels. A consistent volume gives a good feeling while watching movies on the HDTV.

With so many features to entice you, you should have a look at the Toshiba 52XV645U and take it home with you.

YouReviewElectronics.com gives Toshiba 52XV645U 8/10 stars!

thanks for this review as it has narrowed my search for a replacement for my samsung 50 inch DLP which has just died but is under the keep it new program for military personnel. The 52 inch Toshiba is one of 3 offered for replacement.

I bought a 52 inch Toshiba 15 months ago. Now the screen is split on it. I took it to 2 different TV repair men and they both said that the LCD panel went bad on it. I asked how could it have happened? Lightening? Power surge? They said “To be honest with you, it was poor manufacturing.” An LCD panel is $3,000.00 according to both TV repair men. I called Toshiba to see if they would do something to help me out since my warranty was only up a couple of months ago. They said that they would review my case and get back to me. They never got back to me until a week and a half later. They then informed me that they understood my frustration but that the 1 year warranty is up and that they would not do anything to help me get my TV fixed or to help replace my TV. It was a BEAUTIFUL Tv. However, you can’t watch it when half of the TV goes fuzzy on the screen and the other half is fine! This TV went bad not at my fault, but at the fault of Toshiba when they manufactured the product. And who would buy a 3,000.00 LCD panel that is more expensive than the TV itself…that doesn’t even make sence. All that they had to say to me was “Sorry maam, we understand your frustration, but we have to draw the line somewhere.” My advice to anyone looking to buy a new TV, DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA! They do not stand behind their products and do not care about their customers!! Please do not make the same mistake that I did.

I Bought a 52 inch Toshiba about 16 months ago and 1/3 on my screen is now vertical lines the repair shop told me my panel went bad and it would be $2700 to fix. I paid $1700 for the tv new. I would have thought a name that portraited there product as one of the best would be of better quality I was wrong. TOSHIBA PRODUCTS ARE SHIT…. I will never buy another thing that has that generic name on it ever again and I advise anyone thinking of purchasing one to look at other quality products not this JUNK.

same complaint. bought the tv 9/08. 11/10 a 6″ vertical gray line runs from top to bottom of the screen. repair shop & toshiba tell us the “t-con board” is backordered. “IF” this does not fix it ($350.00) the whole panel will need to be replaced ($1600.00). if you dare buy toshiba—get the EXTENDED WARRANTY!

Bought a Toshiba 52″ LCD tv model rv52s535U 21 months ago.Picture is still great, but now I get a wire thin red line down the center. Appears about 1 hr after being turned on. Repair guy came out, checked it over. Bad panel. Glad it is still watchable. The red line goes away sometimes Only annoying on liight background.Called Toshiba, they said there are no know issues. Sure, guess they dont go online and do Google searches.

Do not buy this brand of lcd. Always bought Toshiba brand in the past. Guess that has ended.
