Sylvania LD195SSX Review: 19” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: Sylvania LD195SSX LCD TV. Offering a bonus with the HDTV, Sylvania attaches a built-in DVD player with the Sylvania LD195SSX. The DVD player will allow you to see movies with crisp images and clear voices. It does away with the need to buy a separate DVD player. You get the privilege of buying two devices for the price of one. The DVD player is also quite advanced and able to screen movies with razor sharp images. You will not be disappointed with its performance.

Connectivity is also quite good. There are 2 HDMI, one at the rear and one at the side. There are also additional inputs like 1 VGA input, 1 component video input, 1 composite video input and 1 S-video input. Using the VGA input, the Sylvania LD195SSX can be used as a computer monitor too. Sporting a resolution of 1366 x 768, the HDTV allows very good picture quality. The absence of 1080p resolution has no bearing on the image quality. In fact a 720p resolution will bring down the price much more and make the product more viable.

Sylvania LD195SSX Features and Specifications Review:

  • 19” display
  • Built-in DVD player
  • VGA PC interface
  • 2 HDMI
  • 2 Speakers
  • 720p display format
  • 16:9 image aspect ratio
  • ATSC/NTSC tuner
  • Infrared remote control

The NTSC/ATSC tuner is very useful in bringing the free-to-air signals to the HDTV. It removes the need for a separate set-top box unless you want to see the encrypted channels. The menu can be accessed using three different languages of English, Spanish and French. It makes the product more popular in the various European countries. The menu system is also very user-friendly and you can navigate without any problem.

A review shows that the remote is an Infrared one which means that you can control all devices connected to the HDTV, including through HDMI. Other interesting features include a color temperature control and a 3D comb filter. This will make the image noise-free and of the proper color as per the lighting in the room. This HDTV is all set to conquer the middle-income group segment. Those with a need for just the basic features and an eye on the purse strings will make this a must buy.

YouReviewElectronics.com gives Sylvania LD195SSX 8/10 stars!
