Sony KDL-40Z5100 Review: 40″ LCD HDTV

Up for review: Sony KDL-40Z5100. The new KDL-40Z5100 is the smallest unit of Sony’s recently launched Z-series LCD TVs. Much like the XBR9 series, the Sony Bravia Z series feature all the latest advanced technology. With a narrow bezel and a thin cabinet depth the new Sony KDL-40Z5100 shows off a great design.

Embedded with 1080p format and a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080, the Sony KDL-40Z5100 can seamlessly access 1080i, 720p and 480p/i broadcast signals. But the 40″ Sony KDL-40Z5100 is empowered by Sony’s latest Bravia Engine 3 technology. And this model also features the new faster Motionflow technology with a 240Hz refresh rate, hence crisper and sharper images are likely especially during high motion scenes. With 16:9 aspect ratios, picture quality is expected to be without any motion blur. This LCD model is equipped with 24p True Cinema format, which means movies can be enjoyed in their original 24 frames per second. This LCD also has an improved XMB Menu Interface.

Sony is yet to announce the price for its Z series LCD TV’s. This new Sony KDL-40Z5100 LCD TV is expected to available in stores during spring 2009.
