The KDL-40W4100 produced some of the best results available in the HDTV market, which is no doubt helped by its 3,000 to 1 contrast ratio, as well as its image processing engine. The colors remained rich and vibrant throughout with no noticeable ghosting, and similar results were received when used with a variety of sources including standard DVDs, high-definition Blu-ray media, gaming consoles, and plain over-the-air TV signals. Another impressive feature of this HDTV is Sony’s Picture Frame mode, which allows the LCD to display still images (rather than a blank black screen) when not in use. We absolutely love the feature, and the best part is that it allows you to use your own images or photos via the built-in USB port. All in all, the Sony KDL-40W4100 is one impressive LCD, and coupled with its abundance of features, very decent screen size, and an affordable price point makes this one of the best HDTV releases of 2008.
