The Sony KDL-32L4000 provides both superb picture and great value for money, and allows you to experience the Sony quality without breaking the bank. It comes in Sony’s signature glossy black finish, and offers display at 720p (with support for 1080i). The most striking feature is the excellent value for money – the set retails for a maximum price of $699, while most online stores have it up for even less. This is an excellent deal when you keep in mind the multitude of features this set has, some that are often reserved for higher-end and pricier displays. We’ll talk about them later, but before that, a quick peek at the specs of the 32-inch set.

The KDL-32L4000 is a member of the Sony L series, and from a design standpoint it is a sight to behold. It looks great whether turned on or off. Color and contrast are almost perfect, and so are HD pictures. The set of course does not offer full 1080p support, but then again there is no noticeable difference between 720p and 1080p video at a screen this small – it’s only when go higher in inches that a difference in quality can be noticed. This set however shines when it comes to display quality and connectivity options. You can connect your HD sources using five different ways – two of them being HDMI inputs. It also held its own in use as a gaming display and when connected to a computer. Lack of picture-in-picture, is however a bit of let down, but it’s a small inadequacy when seen from the overall view. All said and done, the Sony KDL-32L4000 looks as good as it sounds, and offers unprecedented image quality at an unbeatable price.
