Sony KDL-32EX500 Review: 32” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: Sony KDL-32EX500 LCD TV. Perhaps the lack of the LED backlight can pose a great disadvantage to Sony in this series of HDTVs. The CCFL backlights are not too bad but viewers will surely be interested in getting the best deal for their money. Besides when so much has been advertised about the LED backlights being ideal for HDTVs in every way, the average consumer may think twice before buying this model. The only feature which might prove a real advantage for the viewers is the price. It is rare when you can get a Sony with the latest Bravia Engine 2 for a price of $799 MSRP.

Sony carries on its practice of employing the highest resolution for this series too. This model has also been blessed with 1080p display resolution bringing the best in picture quality to your living room. Although the much-hyped features like 3D technology or Internet TV have not been included in this TV, yet the 1080p resolution makes sure that you can watch Blu-ray discs with great clarity. This TV is meant for the audience which is not yet prepared for the 3D intervention. They think of the computer as being the right way of accessing the Internet. Sony can find several buyers in this section.

Sony KDL-32EX500 Features and Specifications Review:

  • Full HD 1080p Resolution
  • Ambient Sensor
  • USB Input
  • Motionflow™ 120Hz Technology
  • LightSensor™ Technology
  • 7 HD Inputs
  • BRAVIA Engine™ 2
  • BRAVIA® Sync™ Capable

The 120 Hz refresh rate does wonders for the action sequences. It is expected that the TVs will represent the superb special effects of movies like Avatar with great reality. You will indeed be transported into a different world with the images looking very fluid and crisp with no noise. With the added sensors doing all the dimming of the lights whenever necessary and adjusting colors according to the ambiance of the room, you can easily forget yourself when watching the TV. With the TV and other entertainment devices beside you, you will scarcely feel the need for any friends.

7 HD inputs are enough to keep you engaged for a long time. 4 HDMI take care of all the high definition input devices like Blu-ray disc players, camcorders and gaming consoles. The PC input encourages you to convert the TV into a computer monitor. Since there are no Internet options on the TV, you might choose to do this and see the Internet sites in high definition. The USB port is useful if you want to see the photos on your digital camera on this TV. If you are looking to save a few bucks and see picture quality of the highest degree, then you can try purchasing this TV.
