Another HDTV from the AQUOS line, Sharp’s LC-46D62U (LC46D62U), a 46-inch 1080p, LCD HDTV. Sharp has long been one of the top LCD manufacturers on the market but the latest line of Sharp LCD’s is extra impressive. The LC46D62U also has a very sleek looking exterior with a two-tone black and gray. The bezel surrounding the screen is the very common piano black and has gray lines the bottom that contains both speakers. The Sharp LC-46D62U has some very impressive qualities but this line of AQUOS also has a few negatives you’ll want to be aware of before making any big purchasing decisions.

The Sharp LC-46D62U and its smaller and larger sizes have probably the best black levels of any LCD on the market today. Contrast ratio numbers vary from manufacturer to manufacturer so you can’t completely depend on what they say. However, the LC46D62U contrast ratio is very impressive and ultimately gives you a great picture. There are a few minor issues that prevent it from being the best LCD on the market today. The color temperature is inaccurate, in some scenes you may notice strange bands running across the screen and it lacks a few minor features like PC compatibility and picture-in-picture which may or may not be important to you. The MSRP price for this HDTV is a little extreme at around $1900 but it can be found for much less. You’ll definitely want to shop around if looking for this TV; we’ve found it as low as $1400. Overall, the LC-46D62U by Sharp is a better than average set. It has a few minor annoyances that a real HDTV expert may notice but for the average viewer, this HDTV will look amazing.
