Sharp LC-52BD80U: 52″ LCD TV Review

Up for review: Sharp LC-52BD80U. The Aquos Series LC-52BD80U model from Sharp with its built-in Blu-ray player offers the convenience of an all-in-one home theater solution. Now you can enjoy the all high definition content of a Blu-ray player right attached to the LC-52BD80U LCD TV. The Blu-ray disc is loaded through a side-loading slot; just inserting a disc prompts the television to turn on and playback begins automatically. With a screen size of 52”, high definition movies from Blu-ray will look fantastic. This model is also backwards compatible with standard DVD’s and CD’s.

Embedded with Full HD 1080p 1920 x 1080 native resolution which is the highest available in market currently, the new Sharp LC-52BD80U is likely to produce superb image output. Sharp has introduced Superlucent ASV LCD panel technology with this new BD80 LCD set to process video during low reflection to produce brighter vivid color images. Besides this, it is also equipped with Spectral Contrast Engine XD dynamic contrast ratio with 450 nit brightness which is responsible to bring darker shades of black image output. For more vibrant color option, Sharp has embedded the LCD with 10-Bit Panel. And for enhanced color contrast, it has a new OPC function feature.

Priced at around $2,299.99, the Sharp LC-52BD80U LCD HDTV is slated to be available in market by April 2009.
