Sharp LC-32BD60U: 32″ LCD HDTV Review

Up for review: Sharp LC-32BD60U LCD TV.  The new 32” LC-32BD60U is the lowest size of LCD from Sharp’s AQUOS BD Series. Just like Sharp’s earlier model, this LCD has minimized usage of hazardous chemicals such as lead, mercury and cadmium. The new LC-32BD60U is also certified by US Govt’s Energy Star v3.0 compliance.

The primary highlight of the new AQUOS series LC-32BD60U is its built-in Blu-ray player. With the built-in player available in the side-slot of the LCD, you won’t require a separate player to play Blu-ray, DVD or audio discs.. This feature also saves space constraint problems. You won’t have to worry about the additional player and wires. As per Sharp’s claim, this built-in version is faster than most Blu-ray players. Just entering the Blu-ray disc will facilitate the LCD to turn on to the play mode.

Empowered with Full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) native resolution, which is the highest available currently, the new Sharp LC-32BD60U HDTV is most likely to up scale the lower resolution and reformat it for a higher resolution display. The high dynamic contrast ratio adjusts the image quality according to the desired aspect ratio. Hence brightest of white and darkest of black is expected to be produced by the LC-32BD60U. It also has fine motion enhanced refresh rate of 120Hz which is most likely to take care of motion artifacts. The fast 6ms response time ensures faster transitions between scenes. As a result, flawless images appear scene after scene.
