Samsung UN55C6500 Review: 55” LED LCD HDTV
Up for Review: Samsung UN55C6500 LED LCD TV. Samsung has released this stupendous 55-inch wonder with the hope of wooing the consumers who are looking out for the best in technology but are hesitating to go in for the 3D models. It has made sure that the other main features like the Internet@TV including the Samsung Apps are intact. Together with the 55-inch screen, your whole living room will be transformed into a visual treat where you can get a variety of information beginning from news and sports to what is the latest in Madonna’s life. Watching all this on a 55-inch screen will be enough to keep you rooted to your seats. It looks like it is fast going to replace the computer as far as accessing the Internet is concerned.
Although Internet access was also available in the models last year, yet the feature was severely criticized because it did not live up to expectations. This year, Samsung seems to have done their home work and are determined to put the rear-panel Ethernet port to good use. A plethora of online content providers like Accuweather.com, The Associated Press, Netflix, Twitter, Pandora provide the latest in weather, news, movies, music and even personal engagements via Internet widgets. There are a host of other providers too which give you complete entertainment like Blockbuster, Vudu, YouTube, the Travel Channel, USA Today, Flickr, Rovi and many more.

Along with the Internet accessibility, this TV also has an Ultra Clear Panel with 1080p resolution. It is of course quite impossible to expect anything less than this for this high quality TV. But the refresh rate has been downgraded in this model to 120 Hz which is also enough to produce life-like action without any trailing of images. High speed games and action movie sequences are a pleasure to watch on this TV. And with the LED technology, the pictures are razor sharp and crisp with completely natural color tones. It is also responsible for making the TV only 1.1” thick. The LED edge-lit backlighting makes the TV environment friendly too and conserves a lot of energy.
All of 4 HDMI makes connectivity a grand feature in the TV. You can connect 4 high definition devices at the same time with the Ethernet port being used to stream content from the Internet. Samsung provides the AllShare technology in this model which helps to connect the TV with your home computer network. Then you can access any content from the computer on the TV. Secondly, there is the Connect Share Movie technology which helps you to connect digital devices like camera or thumb drive to the USB ports. Again, you have access to all the content stored in the devices. In fact, this TV gives you enough choice of features to make you want to buy it. It certainly is a good model to invest in this year.

Bought and installed the UN55C6500V model 2 weeks ago from Best Buy and I have been experiencing fluctuating backlight issues. The screen stays dark for some time and then brightens up. This goes on all the time especially when watching HD movies. Samsung needs to fix this problem. Otherwise, this is a nice tv with a lot of fucntions.
Same issue as George Yameche. Have had the LED for three days now. Picture is great; however, there have been a number of times that the screen goes dark and back to light. Unitl I read the comment from George I thought it might be in the electrical system.
Not sure what to do from here.
