Samsung UN55C6300 Review: 55” LED LCD HDTV

Up for Review: Samsung UN55C6300 LED LCD TV. The 6300 series comes to the fore as a really sensible investment for those people who take no special delight in either 3D or Internet on their TV. These people are only interested in watching the regular TV fare or watching the movies in the home theater system. They may also be a bit watchful of the new technologies; waiting for user reviews before they invest in one. Another class of people who may be interested in this TV is those who want a TV to keep in their office or bedroom. This model can serve as an ideal companion for seeing the latest news or watching the current talk shows.

The absence of the 3D or Internet@TV features does not in any way hamper the performance of the TV. It is visually attractive and also portrays great picture quality. Samsung has integrated the 120 Hz Clear Motion in this TV which accounts for the enhanced images that we see. This technology also makes it possible to watch all the high action sequences without any blurring or trailing. This was a big problem in the LCD TVs in the previous years. But it is slowly being sorted out and there are hardly any TVs today, especially by big names in the HDTV industry which have blurring in the images.

Samsung UN55C6300 Features and Specifications Review:

  • 1080p Full HD
  • 120 Hz Clear Motion
  • 4,000,000:1 Mega Dynamic contrast ratio
  • Ultra slim design
  • Touch of Color
  • Built-in digital tuner
  • Ultra Clear Panel

  • BD Wise
  • Light Sensor

This 55-inch TV is good enough to be kept in any part of the house. It has a highest possible resolution of 1080p which also gives rise to great pictures. This TV in fact deserves to have this high resolution so that the people get a view of the most accurate images. Making it 720p would have robbed the TV of some of its glamor. Along with the good images, you also get an Ultra Clear panel which removes the reflections on the panel so that you get the right kind of brightness which is soothing for your eyes. If you watch TV for long hours, then you must make sure that the ambiance of the room is perfectly suited to the brightness of the pictures.

The Light Sensor also helps a lot in creating the right kind of ambiance in the room. It makes sure that just the right amount of brightness is shown in the TV as required by the lighting in the room. The BD Wise feature also provides optimal picture quality by customizing the images and the sound according to the requirement in the room. And you can use these features to good effect while connecting high definition devices through the 4 HDMI. You can watch movies and play games with the perfect picture quality. Investing in this TV is a good idea. It will give you good value for money.

We bought this TV after buying a Samsung 46″ 6900 series TV because the 46″ was too small for the room. We had a problem with the lip-sound sync on the 46″ that no one could fix. After getting home from making the trade at Best Buy, I happened upon a review of this 55″ that we had just purchased ONLY to find a review from an owner who had the very same problem. If you are planning to use this TV with just it’s intermal speakers, it’s a fantastic TV. The picture is absolutely amazing, even compared to Sonys. BUT, if you intend to us a Blue Ray/home theater sound system STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG. Having had the problem with a different series LED/LCD 46″ and reading about someone having the same problem with this model, we got back to Best Buy as fast as we could and switched to a SONY BRAVIA. No wonder this TV is selling at $600 below the original price. Who in their right mind would buy a 55″ HD TV and NOT want to hook it up to a 5.1 surround sound system?!?!?!?

What the previous poster experienced is not a common problem with Samsung televisions.. I’ve owned several Samsungs and I’ve never experienced lip sync issues with my surround setup. Some receivers handshake differently with different brands of televisions and this appears to have been Alan’s case. Also, most newer receiver feature a delay that can be changed to offset any syncing issues.
