Samsung UN40C6500 Review: 40” LED LCD HDTV
Up for Review: Samsung UN40C6500 LED LCD TV. Although Samsung has done well to include most of the new features in the 6500 series except for 3D capabilities, the 40-inch model might turn out to be a bit on the smaller side for some consumers. But it still might appeal to the section of people who aren’t looking for a monster HDTV or who want a second TV in the house to keep in the office or the dorm. The manufacturer has tried to give a beautiful twist to the looks of the TV by introducing the claw-like stand. And along with this, there is the innovative Touch of Color which makes use of the stone black appeal in this series. The bezel is also edged with transparent plastic which carries some of the important controls.
Since the 3D technology has not been included here, it is the Internet@TV which attracts the maximum interest. The inclusion of Samsung Apps is sure to make the experience still more entertaining for you. The list of websites included are Vudu, USA Today, Travel Channel, Pandora, Twitter, Rovi, Netflix, Fashion TV, Picasa, The Associated Press, AccuWeather.com and Accedo Broadband and Blockbuster. You can easily steam all the content from these sites onto your TV through the Ethernet port. It seems like the HDTV manufacturers are all set to give all possible entertainment facilities to the people in their own houses.

And if you have your own computer network at home, then this TV can easily access that through DLNA connectivity. This TV has integrated AllShare and ConnectShare to facilitate networking and viewing more content. AllShare brings you all the content from the home computer network to the TV and ConnectShare is all about connecting the digital devices like thumb drive and camera to the USB ports on the TV. Samsung has also not left out the PC input. You can still convert the HDTV into a computer if you are not satisfied by just accessing its content.
Like most HDTVs, this one too seeks to keep the power consumption low. It not only sticks to the Energy Star requirement but also makes sure that the energy consumed is a good 50% below it. Because of the LED panel in this series, the energy consumed is also less which makes it one of the most eco-conscious TVs today. You can do well to bring it home even if it serves the purpose of being the best companion to your son in the dorm.
