On the higher side of the price range, the Samsung UN40B7000 has many innovative features which stand up to the exaggerated prices. Due to the LED lighting, the bezel is very thin at just 1.2 inches. It also contributes to the power conservation keeping your bills very low. The super-slim bezel stands on a sturdy swiveling stand but can also be mounted on the walls. The display is surrounded by a red border and then a transparent white outline. The stand also complements this look. The entire getup is really divine.

In fact, there is not much difference between LED TVs and LCD TVs. You only have light-emitting diodes in place of fluorescent backlights. The rest of the design remains the same. As a part of the new features, Samsung has included Yahoo widgets to the Samsung UN40B7000. These widgets take the form of snippets along the bottom of the display and can be activated to perform when required. These snippets are internet powered information modules which can give information about stock, weather and news.

A review shows that the Samsung UN40B7000 can use the network connection to obtain photos, video and music from devices which are DLNA certified. It can also use the USB ports to access the same and at the same time can connect to USB thumb drives, MP3 players and digital cameras. There is a lot of in-built information about various topics like recipes, workout guides, games, art, photos and music.

The Samsung UN40B7000 has 120 Hz refresh rate with dejudder processing. There are also many adjustments for the picture like four adjustable picture modes, five color temperature presets, three types of noise reduction, a 2:3 pulldown for movie effects, gamma control, contrast control, a color space control and a black tone control. All of these settings can be used to provide a customized setting of the picture for you.

There are 4 HDMI connections in the Samsung UN40B7000. Other inputs include 2 USB inputs, PC input, RF input, component video input and an Ethernet port. As far as performance is concerned, the picture quality is very good with the exception of the black levels. Since Samsung has no local dimming equipment, the black levels could have been better.

On the whole, the Samsung UN40B7000 seems to be a good product. Both the slim looks and the good performance will force you to buy the product.
