Samsung LN40B750 Review: 40” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: Samsung LN40B750 LCD TV. This HDTV does not have the tinge of red of the other series. But it does have a hint of blue in the lower side of the bottom of the panel. Rest of the bezel is dominated by black. It lacks the sleek design of the other models, but is still a good set for your money. It is 3.1 inch deep with a sturdy stand to support it. The glass base gives the subtle effect of the panel floating in thin air.

The remote is built along the same lines as last year with the addition of a protrusion at the back to support it while keeping it on a flat surface. The scroll wheel has also been done away with. The buttons are different in size and shape for different functions. The remote is also backlit which helps you to locate the buttons in the dark. There is a Tools key which allows access to important functions like picture and sound controls. The only disadvantage is the glossy finish which shows up the fingerprints after a while.

The Samsung LN40B750 has a very impressive refresh rate of 240 Hz. This is twice the refresh rate of other models. This gives an impetus to the motion resolution but its effect is not that obvious to most people. Samsung has also provided an adjustment for dejudder processing using which you can play around with the blur reduction and judder.
