Samsung LN40A650 Review: 40″ LCD HDTV

Up for review: Samsung LN40A650 LCD TV. The 40” LN40A650 is Samsung’s new Series 6 (650 series) LCD model. This series 6 ranges of LCD’s are loaded with even greater features as compared to the earlier series 5 and series 4. The black color bezel looks slicker with the latest touch of the color to make a fashion statement impressive for any kind of room décor.

Available with a price of around $1699.99, the Samsung LN40A650 has many high-end features. To begin with, this new LCD is full HD with 1080 progressive lines featuring 1920 x 1080 pixels of display resolution which means greater picture quality. The image quality is further enhanced by Samsung’s DNIe digital engine which ensures lifelike picture quality closer to film. A whopping dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000:1 and Auto Motion Plus 120Hz refresh rate virtually eliminate motion blur and smooth transitions between frames especially during high action scenes. A fast 4ms response time reduces the motion blur to the minimum. Another innovative wide color enhancer technology has been introduced in the Samsung LN40A650 to adjust the color according to the room light. And the 40” spacious screen offers a wide field of vision.

You can connect older technologies like VHS and DVD up to the latest Blu-ray technology to the LN40A650. In addition to these, it also has InfoLink RSS and Wiselink USB connection provision which facilitates hooking up MP3 player or digital camera to your TV.

Equipped with SRS TruSurround XT, the sound quality offers a truly surround sound effect even without the setup. However, the speakers as they face downward are not very loud. Also remote control is a bit difficult to handle.  But overall, the new Samsung LN40A650 is a good bargain with its features as well as performance.
