Samsung LN22B360 Review: 22” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: Samsung LN22B360 LCD TV. This HDTV is one from the smaller-display segment. The 22-inch screen can be kept in smaller rooms like the kitchen or office room. Even small bedrooms look good with this TV. Since everyone now wants everything matching the ambiance of a room, Samsung has certainly taken care of this aspect by making the TV visually impressive. It also has the option of being mounted on the walls. The depth not being much, it looks like a moving wall hanging. However, we still have to wait for all the TVs to be wireless to get a clutter-free look on the walls.

Like all Samsung HDTVs, this too has a very impressive contrast ratio of 15,000:1. The black levels are good with darker blacks and crisper whites. This makes the pictures still more natural, helped along with the Wide Color Enhancer2 and CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp). The natural shades accentuate the tone of every pixel in the images. This great picture quality is further emphasized by the 720p resolution. This resolution is perfect for the size of the TV. Since most of the programs telecast on TV are in 720p, you will have no problem watching them. But there may be some problems while watching movies on the Blu-ray disc player.

The audio department is also good with 2 speakers having 5W power each. The SRS TruSurround HD and a built-in subwoofer provide great clarity in the sound. Every dialogue is distinctly audible along with music. No matter where you seat yourself in the room, you will hear everything clearly. The excellent sound quality is supplemented by a built-in HDTV tuner which brings free-to-air signals to your house. You can connect a set top box if you want to view satellite programming.

The action scenes are brought to life by the 8 ms response time. Consequently, you can witness no blurring in the scenes with every pixel being presented in full clarity. The video games will certainly look better and so will the fight sequences and the car races. You can play these games by connecting a gaming console through an HDMI port. There is just 1 HDMI in this TV, but this is enough for connecting one high definition device at a time. You can also choose to convert the HDTV to a computer monitor using the PC input. The Samsung LN22B360C5D is perfect for a small home which requires only the basic features of an HDTV.
