Panasonic TC-L37G1 Review: 37” LCD HDTV
Up for review: Panasonic TC-L37G1 37-inch LCD TV. Along with their 2009 Plasma HDTVs’, Panasonic has also introduced several new LCD HDTV models. The TC-L37G1 isn’t Panasonic’s top of the line series but it also isn’t their base model. The G1 series is great because it contains the important features and good quality but not the super high price tag. You can find cheaper 37-inch LCD TV’s but it’s important to compare the quality.
The Neo LCD panel employs IPS switching and offers a higher contrast ratio than last year’s models. The viewing angle and picture quality are also vastly improved. You can sit in any part of the room and get a good view of the HDTV. The overall review of the Panasonic TC-L37G1’s picture quality shows that it is great for most viewers. Some audio/video afficionados may notice imperfections but the majority of TV watchers will be blown away.
Panasonic TC-L37G1 Features and Specifications Review:
- 1080p full-HD resolution

The Panasonic TC-L37G1 has a good contrast ratio of 20,000:1. A review of the TC-L37G1 connectivity options is good and includes 3 HDMI inputs. You can connect HD-ready devices to the HDTV and bring entertainment home. Gaming devices, camcorder and DVD players can be connected to the HDTV. Some of the 2009 TV’s are starting to stream content or have Internet connectivity. This model doesn’t but if that isn’t important to you, you’ll save quite a few bucks.
The Panasonic TC-L37G1 has VIERA Link feature which gives you the power to use just one remote for accessing all the devices connected through the HDMI inputs. It still does not have the VIERA Cast feature for connecting to the Internet.
Overall, the Panasonic TC-L37G1 is a solid LCD HDTV and should definitely be considered if you’re looking in the 37-inch LCD range. It can often be found on sale at Amazon.com which usually included free shipping.
YouReviewElectronics.com gives Panasonic TC-L37G1 8/10 stars!

July 2009
I just purchased this Panasonic TC-L37G1 @ J and R Music in NYC.
I should hv listened to everyones complaints about Panasonic’s Power Supply Problems. I didnt hv a power supply problem w/ this HDTV, but I had problems
w/ the HDMI connections. The HDTV comes w/ 3 connections. I had problem w/ the 1st & 2nd of the HDMI connections. I hookedup to new Time Warner
HD box, but NO SOUND. I spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong.
Finally I started to switch over to the 2nd HDMI line that worked on and off, and now finally I hv the Panasonic TC-L37G1 working w/ the 3rd HDMI connection. So the HDMI connection 1 & 2 are no good. Now I guess this is the 1st time I hv seen this problem but it shows that Panasonic is hv all kinds of problems w/ their HDTV’s, as can be shown w/ others hving Power Supply problems. The thing that really ticks me off is that when you speak to
all salespeople at J and R or Best Buys or P.C. Richards or Crutchfield, they all claim hearing nothing about any problems w/ Panasonic or any other brand.
It just goes to show, you gotta do your own homework and really the only people you can trust are the individuals like me who post online.
Live and Learn. Now I gotta find a new HDTV, whata pain. I just hope my next HDTV is better than my last pick.
I bought my Panasonic TC-L37G1 through ABT and it is fantastic. All I had to do was attach the base with a few screws and plug it into my sat box with an HDMI cable. It works perfectly. The picture is crystal clear. Sports and movies look great from every angle in the room. I also bought a Panamax line conditioner/surge protector for extra protection. The TV is the perfect size for our small living room. It is way, way, way better than my old 27″ Panasonic CRT TV that I bought 10 years ago.
