Panasonic TC-L37D2 Review: 37” LED LCD HDTV
Up for Review: Panasonic TC-L37D2 LED LCD TV. After proving its supremacy in the Plasma HDTV market, Panasonic forays into the LED world this year with the intention of providing stiff competition to the leaders in the LED market. This model however does not boast of the much acclaimed 3D technology or the Internet access features. The USP of the model is the universal dock for iPod. It includes an iPod entertainment kit which allows all the music loaded onto your iPod to be played on the HDTV. The IPS panel is another important feature of this model which provides wide viewing angle and just the right kind of brightness. The LED backlights work with the IPS panel to give superb pictures even when you are not seated right in front of the TV.
The IPS panel together with the LED technology provides the correct mix of color and is also responsible for the slimness of the TV. Additionally it also cuts down the electricity bills and saves a lot of power. The LED backlights are strategically placed at the top and bottom of the panel which helps focus the light at the center. Light guides and diffusers spread the light throughout the panel and thus there is no need for LEDs to cover the entire panel. This leads to energy conservation. It also helps make the TV thinner which makes it look great when mounted on the walls.

The remote itself is quite handy with the buttons on it helping in easy navigation. Purchased this television and within two weeks it had problems. Garbled sound poor picture in dark scenes. Called panasonic and received a poor response, they were aware of the issues and would send out a firmware upgrade in 10 to 14 days. 15 days later called back they figured out they sent it to the wrong address. not impressed with tv or their service
I purchased this tv a few days ago and wow picture is great but one thing to note if you want great sound you must have a digital inpput on your stereo and the cable cause the sound on this tv is way less than ideal but all in all no problems so far
I would say spend the extra money and get an LG. If you are any sort of videophile this thing has very few adjustments, bad dimming issues, juddering. HD looks OK but must be adjusted often, skin tones are change almost per program. I’m FAR from impressed and it WILL go back! The ONLY plus is for an LED it does have good to OK speakers, then again its not a thin LED. Again, if your looking for a tv that you can make look great this isn’t it! For a LED at this price point it should have grey scale min…. COME ON PANASONIC!
