Panasonic TC-L32C12 Review: 32” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: Panasonic TC-L32C12 LCD TV. Panasonic has tried to live up to the expectations of its die-hard customers by introducing this set which has a bit of everything. It has style, improved performance and great features but for a very affordable price. The reduced price may be due to the fact that this TV has a 720p display resolution. In fact, 720p is perfect for a TV of this size. The picture quality is very good and you can watch all the TV programs with great clarity and crispness. Only people with a very discerning eye can find the difference when they watch movies on the Blu-ray disc player. But most of the viewers will find it hard to differentiate between the pictures of a 720p resolution and 1080p resolution in a TV of 32” display. Besides, all the programs aired on TV are in 720p.

The refresh rate is on the lower end at 60 Hz and 8 ms pixel response time. The frames replace themselves pretty fast resulting in pictures free from blurring and artifacts. There are TVs which have still better refresh rates but this particular model from Panasonic has no issues with blurring despite a comparatively low refresh rate. The action scenes can be seen with pleasure as even the gymnasts descend in rapid motion without any show of lagging in the images. The Panasonic TC-L32C12 makes a humble showing but it certainly excels in performance. The very stable pictures are aptly supported by a good contrast ratio of 10,000:1 with an equally good brightness. Consequently, the black levels are also beyond complaint.

It has an exceptional viewing angle of 178 degrees. This means that you can have any seat in the house and still get a very good view of the TV. There is no washing out of colors at the edges. The 3D Y/C digital comb filter does its work thoroughly and you will not find any noise in the video of the TV. The images are sharp and ably supported by a gamut of colors. The shades of every color help in presenting a perfectly natural picture to you. The audio is also as good as the video. The sound can be heard clearly throughout the room with 2 built-in speakers of 10W each. The surround mode makes it possible to hear the dialogues and music distinctly even in a very large room.

The Panasonic TC-L32C12 has an SD card slot and VIERA Link HDMI software. You can use the remote to control all the devices connected through HDMI. You don’t need an assortment of remotes to access every device. However, the SD card reader can do with some improvement. It takes too long to load. It is in fact, much easier to load pictures to the computer via the VGA input. This TV also takes energy conservation into consideration and is EPA Energy Star compliant. Tagged with a price of $499.97 MSRP, it is too good a TV to resist. It will certainly add style to your home.
