LG 55LH40 Review: 55” 1080p LCD HDTV

Up for review: LG 55LH40 55-inch LCD TV.  The 55LH40 is a smart-looking HDTV from LG. The black bezel looks serene and quietly opulent. It incorporates an Invisible Speaker System which enhances the sleek look of the HDTV. The speakers are intelligently camouflaged to provide a uniform look. You can view your favorite channels on a smooth screen, untouched by any embellishments. The sound is of superb quality.

The HDTV has integrated TruMotion 120 Hz which reduces motion blur significantly. Further, the S-IPS (Super In Plane Switching) technology improves on the picture quality and provides very natural and life-like images. Judder is reduced to a minimum with stress on crisp and clear images. The 1080p resolution is also instrumental in providing the ultimate viewing experience. A review of the 55LH40 shows that it has faster response times and better color and contrast. Even the worst viewing angle gives a good view of the screen.

LG has kept up with the trend to conserve energy and has introduced a “Smart Energy Saving” package to use less power. It conforms to Energy 3.0 requirements and has many energy-saving features. There are backlight control options, video mute and Intelligent Sensor which selectively use power and thus save it. Since there is a dire need to conserve power, LG has made a good start in this direction.

A review shows that all the ports and connections are kept hidden behind the screen. Some controls are also placed at the side which causes obstacles if you want to manually change the settings. The remote is designed to suit the needs of an average user. The buttons are neatly arranged to give a classy look to it. Overall, the features of the LG55LH40 are more than the average viewer will need and the price is pretty good for a HDTV of this size.

Love the look of the TV but do not care for the way the picture flows. Its very Matrix like. It’s surreal and computerized. I like the pictures on my Panasonic and Samsung much better! They don’t have this weird effect. You feel your watching a video game! Gets annoying.
