LG 42LH40 Review: 42” 1080p LCD HDTV

Up for review: LG 42LH40 42 inch LCD TV.  The LG 42LH40 is another product waiting in the wings. It is included in the 2009 lineup from LG. A review of this HDTV shows that it hasvfull 1080p resolution; the highest possible resolution available today. It has a sleek panel with very slim structure. This structure lends a smooth and uniform look to it. It further incorporates an invisible speaker system which besides giving a svelte look provides extremely good audio quality. The black bezel tapers into a tear drop at the bottom right corner of the HDTV. This adds a different dimension to the looks.

This HDTV makes use of the four core technologies from LG. The Super In Plane Switching (S-IPS) panel structure provides crisp and clear images. It also gives better color and contrast along with fast response time. The viewing angle also does not hamper the quality of images. Off-axis viewing angles too provides good vision. Viewers will also be able to customize their viewing options. The LG 42LH40 allows easy calibration options for video and audio and enhanced access to content.

The LG 42LH40 features a TruMotion 120Hz panel and an Intelligent Sensor. The images can be seen without any judder in the fast-action sequences. The transition is smooth and appeals to the eye. The Intelligent Sensor can track any changes in the brightness and contrast requirement and adapt according to need. There are also 3 HDMI inputs and a USB port. Digital music and photos can be viewed with the help of this technology.

LG has incorporated the Smart Energy Saving Plus design to conserve power. The 42LH40 conforms to Energy Star 3.0 requirements too. The desire to conserve power has resulted in features like backlight control options, video mute and Intelligent Sensor.  All these features, together with great looks places the LG 42LH40 a very competitive TV in its class.
