LG 42LG30 Review: 42” LCD TV
Up for review: the LG 42LG30. Aesthetically stylish and technologically advanced, the all new LG 42LG30 has got everything that you look for in high definition television viewing. With a glossy black piano black outlook, the LG 42LG30 displays a modern design and the lighter weight adds on to its popularity only. With a price tag of only around $799.99 MSRP, you can’t go too wrong with this LCD TV.
Even though the 42LG30 doesn’t display the latest Full 1080P resolution, you will likely still be impressed with its picture if you are upgrading from an old TV. The screen response time of the LG 42LG30 is a bit slower than other LCD models but like the like the lower resolution feature, you are still getting a great bang for your buck.
Even though built-in NTSC™ and Digital tuners are there in the 42LG30, you still need a satellite receiver or a digital antenna to catch the high-definition channels like many other televisions.

Connectivity is not a problem thanks to 3 HDMI connections with LG SimpLink® feature. It doesn’t matter what is the variety, size, format and resolution of your incoming media content, HDMI systems automatically adjust to display that content in the most effective format.
The 20W speaker system with SRS TruSurround XT of the LG 42LG30 is impressive and sufficient for most viewers; although some will still opt for an added surround sound system. Adding to that the Clear voice technology of this LCD TV reduces any background noise so you get seamless, crystal-clear audio quality.
For its affordable price and advanced features, the LG 42LG30 is a great option for anyone just getting into or isn’t a heavy user of HDTV. The lack of 1080p resolution and some other features may keep Audio/Video nuts away but for the average viewer, the LG 42LG30 will save you a few bucks and give you a great picture.
YouReviewElectronics.com gives LG 42LG30 8/10 stars!
