LG 42LD450 Review: 42″ LCD HDTV

Up for Review: LG 42LD450 LCD TV. To meet the demands and preferences of diverse consumers, LG has come up with different models. The variety available makes sure there is something for all. The LD450 series is just one of those series that offers products for consumers who are looking for a reasonably decent TV and can compromise on some additional hi-tech features, available in higher end models. This 42 inch model is a slim LCD Panel which ensures good quality performance, but lacks some of the latest features like wireless capabilities, internet options, or LED technology. What sets the model apart from other regular sets is its picture quality and user-friendly control system.

The model is provided with 1080p HD display. This full HD resolution is the primary requirement for good picture quality. With this feature present in the set, you are most likely to experience clearer and sharper images. Be it movies, TV shows, sports or any other entertainment content it will be worth watching in the 42 inch model. The additional feature that makes the set more convenient for the users is the Picture Wizard. The technology makes picture control much easier for the non-experts. The internal test patterns used by the technology will help you perform basic calibrations of the controls for brightness, contrast, color, tint, sharpness, and even backlight. So, now you can adjust the picture elements yourself for optimum viewing experience.

LG 42LD450 Features and Specifications Review:

  • 42 inch widescreen
  • Full 1080p HD display
  • Slim design
  • Picture Wizard
  • Clear Voice II
  • AV Mode II

Though lacking some of the advanced features, the LG 42LD450 is equipped with some of the essentials that works in its favor. The AV mode II is one of the LG Core technologies that have been included in the set. Availability of this technology gives you the opportunity to select the right picture mode for the suitable content. The 3 different modes specifically designed for sports, cinema, or gaming content, allows you to enjoy the respective content to the fullest.

This is not all; the flat panel is also provided with good audio. The Clear Voice II is one of the features that ensures good audio experience. It enhances and amplifies the sound of the human voice frequency range and makes dialogue audible even when background noise increases. The best part is that it can also be personalized with a new 12-step adjustment level.

Assuring good picture quality and audio, the set is definitely a decent TV that meets basic quality parameters. The few missing features may fail to satisfy the ones looking for all features in their TV. The LG 42LD450 is a good option for all those who want quality performance and can do without additional features.

The LG 42LD450nis a great tv and alot of bang for the buck. 658 out the door at walmart. Very easy to set up . Sound great and i only have it set on 12. The picture is amazing at 720p. Turned down the back light from factory setting and set it on sports mode. Just got done watching hockey and this tv is amazing. I was going to get the Vizeo eco but side by side the LG blew it away for 20 more bucks.

TOTALLY agree with the comments about the Polariod tv. Also have a 42″ that came with a built in DVD player. That lasted about six months now after only 2 1/2 yrs the picture is going out. No matter how much you contact Polariod they NEVER seem to fix the problems. They just keep coming back. So like Liz, I too am screwed. Never again will I buy another Polariod television.

Could we keep the reviews on topic please……. Post on another review guys.

This tv beats my parents much more expensive 52″ sony in terms of color quality and deep blacks. It has great adjustment options and the sound conversion is solid. My speakers really explode with this tv vs my 5 yr old sony. It is missing a couple connection options including ethernet, wifi, and decent mass storage support. It does have usb support, 2 hdmi hookups, and a rgb. So it is enough for most people looking in this price range. The only thing it comes short on is glare protection. It does do a good job but it could be better. To summarize, I love this tv!!! 9/10
