LG 37LH30 Review: 37” 1080p LCD HDTV

Up for review: LG 37LH30 37-inch LCD TV review.  LG continues their lower priced LCD series with the 37LH30 in 2009. It has introduced the Picture Wizard and 24p Real Cinema technologies to output life-like images. It has a wide 178 degrees viewing angle to provide a pleasant experience for everybody in the room, irrespective of the angle. A review shows that it has a built-in HDTV tuner which can provide over-the-air high definition broadcasts by just attaching an HD-capable antenna. You can also connect a set-top box to receive satellite programming.

The 37LH30 has a 1080p resolution which provides the best picture possible.  The XD image processing engine lays a lot of stress on greater color, brightness and contrast, while reducing the noise significantly to reproduce brilliant images. The dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000:1 is great for a TV in this size and price range and helps to produce an overall good image.

The 37LH30 is designed to sit on a stand or be mounted on the wall. The stand can be rotated through 20 degrees which allows the viewer the flexibility to sit in any part of the room. Besides providing the best vision, it also sports a 5ms response time which will make action sequences a pleasure. Several image enhancement features have been integrated into this HDTV, like the wide color gamut, color temperature control, noise reduction and Picture Wizard. There are also 3 different modes for sports, movies and news. You can customize your HDTV for viewing your topic of interest.

The 20W speaker system lends strength to the alluring features of the 37LH30. It has SRS TruSurround XT and Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder to simulate a surround sound experience. The fluctuations in sound are minimized by the use of Auto Volume Leveler II. Clear Voice II will let you hear the dialogues in movies even if the background noise is more. It raises the voices so that you can hear it above the background din.

You can connect your computer to the 37LH30 too. High resolution images can be obtained by plugging the PC video input. In addition to this, there are 3 HDMI inputs which allow you to access HD content. You can play your favorite video games by connecting the video game console to your HDTV. All the inputs and outputs are arranged at the rear of the 37LH30. Parents have the option of barring particular channels from being viewed by their children by using the parental controls. This HDTV is also very power efficient as it conforms to the Energy Star requirements. The Intelligent Sensor too aids in this direction.
