LG 37LG50 Review: 37″ 1080p LCD TV
Up for review: LG 37LG50. Awesome graphics at a low price range of $799.95 – $999.99 is the best feature the LG group has come up with the all new LG 37LG50 LCD HDTV. Videophiles would especially love the bright and colorful images (thanks to the fabulous Full HD 1080p technology support) and the room filling sound come from the LG 37LG50.
Absence of certain advance features such as 120Hz refresh rate, Picture-in-Picture (PIP) options and Ethernet port can be noticed upon putting a close look into this LCD TV. Even with similar specifications, the LG50 series do not sport Scarlet’s see-through belly button and vermilion backside which is trademark of LG’s 60 series. On the plus side, the USB port is better responsive by accepting both MP3 files and JPEG; as a result you can pick a song to play along with your slide show.

The picture menu is one of the best small features of the new LG 37LG50. It not only provides the basic adjustments feature such as Brightness, Sharpness, Contrastcolor, Tint (Hue) and Backlight, but can preset into different labels like Standard, Vivid, Cinema, Sport, Game and Expert mode. The noise reduction can also be adjusted as per different modes through the 37LG50’s Expert Control menu.
With the LG 37LG50, the picture quality is excellent especially when you watch High-definition content such as Blu-ray movies and HD television programming. But even the standard definition programs are at their best with this LCD TV. The audio setting is good, but the only flaw is you need to turn off the Clear Voice feature in order to access the SRS TruSurround XT option which might be a bit inconvenient for users.
