LG 37LE5300 Review: 37” LED HDTV
Up for review: LG 37LE5300 LED TV. With the aim to reach and woo more numbers of consumers, LG has introduced its new LE series of HDTVs which include wide range of varieties. The 37 inch model of LE5300 series launched by the brand is believed to be a step down from the LE5400 Series. Belonging to the smaller screen size category, the set is definitely better than its other counterparts in the small series. The flat panel features Full HD native resolution of 1080p that is not available in similar range models. This full display formatting plays a very vital role in making the picture quality ideal for viewing. The max resolution contributes significantly towards displaying clearer, sharper and crisper images.
The LED-backlit LCD display provided in the model further sets it apart from the smaller sets in the series. The back light technology offers a number of advantages over previously employed fluorescent tube backlights in form of improved dynamic contrast, wider color gamut and longer lifespan. Besides contributing significantly towards enhancing picture quality, it also ensures lower power consumption (due to elimination of mercury used in the fluorescent tubes). So, if you like environmental friendly products that help in conserving energy, this is one of the right options that you can go for. It will not only save significant amounts of energy but also result in low electricity bills.
LG 37LE5300 Features and Specifications Review:
- 37″ Widescreen
- LED-Backlit LCD Display
- Full HD 1080p Native Resolution
- 16:9 Image Aspect Ratio
- TruMotion 120Hz Refresh Rate
The TruMotion technology provided in the LG 37LE5300 ensures you view all the fast paced action sequences clearly without witnessing any unwanted blurring or trailing in the frames. Unlike higher end models that are coming with 480Hz refresh rate, this flat panel features 120 Hz. This disparity does not cause much of difference and hence you can have all the fun watching smooth action sequences. The designing of the model is no less than any other high specification high end products. The sleek design, with slim bezel and glossy finish add up to the qualities of the model. Whether you mount it on wall or place it on a stand, it will definitely give a nice look to your room space.
Though equipped with many quality features, the set definitely lags behind other high end models on several fronts like local dimming and 3D technology. Due to these missing features, the LG 37LE5300 may fail to woo consumers who want all the latest features in their TV, but it will definitely win those who plan to go for a brand name that offers reasonable features at reasonable price.

WTF, LG???!!! WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH PANEL LOTTERY? WHAT DO I HAVE TO F_CK TO GET AN IPS PANEL IN THIS LINE? IT’S NOT BAD ENOUGH THAT ALL THESE TV’S ARE OVERPRICED JUNK MANUFACTURERS NOW PLAY PANEL LOTTERY WITH CONSUMERS. YOU’RE LUCKY IF YOU GET A GOOD ONE.
POST IF YOU KNOW HOW TO GET AN IPS PANEL. I DOUBT LG WILL TELL ME WHERE/HOW TO GET IT
Everything I have seen shows that the AUSW is IPS and AUSD is VA. I had an AUSD and it was crap and I exchanged it for an AUSW and it is an IPS and its wonderful.
I alos should add that I purchased the LG LE 42 5400
I just received my TV and the product code was LG32LE5300 – US.CUSDLH. Hence the inferior VA panel, I didn’t even open the box, called Amazon and they are sending a replacement TV, hopefully its the one with the IPS panel. This is really pathetic what LG did. I’m loosing confidence in them.
I just bought my LG 37LE5300 tv 2 days ago and I’m very happy with my purchase as the quality of the image is amazing. It has a true motion option that makes you feel as if your in the screen (very close to the 3D quality).
I bought this tv in june and I love it. It is easy to setup, easy to program and easy to do whatever you want with it. The picture is like you are watching the actual film footage. I love it.
