LG 26LH20 Review: 26” 720p LCD HDTV

Up for review: LG 26LH20 26-inch LCD TV.  If you are in search of a smaller, budget priced TV for your house and still want a good picture and reliability,  the 26LH20 from LG should be on your review list. Though limited to the essential features, this HDTV has the great backing of LG, who has been in the electronics industry for longer than most people realize.

A review of the LG 26LH20 picture specs shows that it has a high-definition resolution of 720p and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. These specs are weaker than some of LG’s other HDTV lines but is more than enough for the average HDTV owner. Nevertheless, pictures will still be in high definition and leaps beyond a regular TV. There are 2 HDMI inputs which allow you to hook up many DVD players, Blu-ray players and other similar devices.

There are easy calibration options for both audio and video with easy access to content. The Super IPS panel structure provides better color and contrast with better response times. You can view the LG 26LH20 from any off angles with very little variance in picture quality.

Smart Energy Saving

The LG 26LH20 makes use of the “Smart Energy Saving” package which is available on most of LG’s 2009 line-up.   The energy is conserved to a large extent using video mute and backlight control options. It also meets the Energy Star 3.0 qualifications thereby making use of very less power for its running.

As far as looks are concerned, the LG 26LH20 is pretty standard which isn’t a bad thing.  They didn’t attempt any “high tech” or trendy add-ons and went with just a slim black bezel and a glossy look. The front panel is very clean with all the ports hidden from view.  A review of the connections shows  that the rear side of the HDTV contains all the ports with some controls on the side. So if you want a good-looking set with moderate features, then the LG 26LH20 should definitely be considered.

YouReviewElectronics.com gives LG 26LH20 8/10 stars!
