LG 19LE5300 Review: 19” LED HDTV

Up for Review: LG 19LE5300 LED TV. Surprisingly, LG has taken a lot of trouble to include most of the latest technologies in the 19-inch LED TV. This is usually the segment which is the given the least importance since it does not sell for a huge sum of money nor does it have an impressive clientele. But maybe some market research has prompted the manufacturers to start paying attention to even the smaller display units. Understandably, the display resolution is only 720p. This is alright for the screen size of 19-inches. The picture quality is very good. In fact, you will miss the 1080p resolution and a big display size only when you watch movies on the Blu-ray disc player. And since you are most likely to be keeping this TV as a second option in the house, there are very little chances of using it to watch movies. This will be a set you will keep in the kitchen or in the office room to help provide some music or watch some talk shows while you are busy putting the dishes in the dishwasher or waiting for your client to reach the office room.

The refresh rate is also less at 60 Hz. But this is also enough for the smaller screen size. The images are quite distinct and there is no blurring or trailing which is really noticeable. Watching the action scenes is not expected to cause many problems. The actual feedback from the consumers will tell us how effective the 60 Hz refresh rate is in getting rid of the blurring. Considering that the 3D ready large screen TVs can provide a refresh rate of 480 Hz, perhaps LG could have improved upon this aspect in the 19-inch TV.

The picture quality receives a big boost with the ability to tweak image settings through the Picture Wizard. This is one of LG’s Core technologies which is included in this TV. Another such technology is the Clear Voice II. This will allow you to listen to the dialogues without straining your ears. The voices can be heard distinctly above the noise in the background. With the help of the AV Mode II, you can switch between the modes for movies, games, sports and the regular programs. This set is certainly one you should seriously consider taking as a second TV in your house. It will surely keep you entertained!
